Summer Teacher Service Trip to Guatemala

Are you a teacher or educator looking to broaden your horizons, experience a new culture and education system, and use your skills to create change?
If so, then join us this summer for the learning experience of a lifetime!

This summer, Limitless Horizons Ixil will host an 8-day or 2-week service-learning trip focused on education in the indigenous community of Chajul, Guatemala, with graduate-level university credit available.

This is a unique opportunity to observe classrooms, engage in dialogue with teachers and school directors, and learn first-hand about educational experiences from Chajul's students themselves — all in a beautiful remote part of Guatemala.

Past service projects have included planting organic house gardens, supporting Chajul's public library, mixing and laying cement for school classroom floors, and professional development workshops with local teachers. You will also get to play games with youth, take beautiful hikes, learn to make tortillas, hear from an ex-guerrilla from the Guatemalan civil war, take a boat tour of Lake Atitlan, visit a sacred Mayan site, shop at the world famous market of Chichicastenango, and much more.
